Chapter Twelve
Jeremiah
âShould we be nervous that we left Diamond and Seltzer alone together?â Easton would know better than me, but Seltzer was determined to make Diamond like him again. His plan for the day was to get him to work on new lyrics together while Easton and I worked. Me personally, I wasnât sold on that unsupervised plan.
âDiamond and I had a long talk after the last pool playing incident. It will be fine. Your brother just needs to remove his head from his lower orifice.â Easton cracked me up. Ninety percent of the time he was pretty strait-laced and well-spoken while the other ten percent heâd lose it and let loose a few f-bombs. I always giggled like a little kid when he did that, tempted to point and say, he-he, Easton cussed.
âUm, I have a, um, personal question to ask.â Why was I so nervous? This was Easton and heâd keep this between us. I think. When his gaze met mine it was like being examined under a microscope. âWould it be possible for Seltzer to get an appointment with the company doctor at the same time as me? Weâd like to both get tested.â
âGet tested?â Eastonâs brows raised, questioning my choices, Iâm sure. âThatâs a big step. Are you sure youâre both ready for it?â
âWe said I love you to each other.â Jesus, that sounded so fucking immature. âI mean, weâre in love.â
âI just donât want you to get hurt. Youâre my brother and I love you.â
âI love you, too, E, and I love Seltzer. Weâre serious about each other.â
Easton nodded. âIâll call and make the appointment.â
We worked until lunchtime then went in search of our men, hoping there was no bloodshed. âAre you boys playing nicely?â Easton asked them as we walked into the basement. Music blared through the speakers, each had taken a section of the couch and claimed it as their own. Notebooks and pens in hand, wadded papers on the floor. No blood, and theyâd been busy which was a good sign.
Diamond groaned, and Seltzer responded. âWe have. Gonna hit his studio in a bit. Lunch time?â Seltzer wandered over and took me in his arms and kissed me in front of my brother. My face heated, but I didnât care. If this didnât show them how much we meant to each other then I didnât know what would.
âYes. Weâre having leftovers for lunch. Carne asada tacos and burritos for dinner courtesy of our lovely housekeeper and chef.â Diamond pulled Easton down on top of him as he got the last word out. âHello, handsome.â I was the last Taylor to find my person which was great. Instead of constantly feeling alone and jealous, I felt a sense of inner peace now and wanted to share our relationship with the world.
âWe should have Mom and Sal over for dinner while Seltzer is here.â That hit me with a pang, and I regretted the fact weâd part ways next week. Well, most likely? Guess we should discuss that.
