Chapter Twelve

Jeremiah

“Should we be nervous that we left Diamond and Seltzer alone together?” Easton would know better than me, but Seltzer was determined to make Diamond like him again. His plan for the day was to get him to work on new lyrics together while Easton and I worked. Me personally, I wasn’t sold on that unsupervised plan.

“Diamond and I had a long talk after the last pool playing incident. It will be fine. Your brother just needs to remove his head from his lower orifice.” Easton cracked me up. Ninety percent of the time he was pretty strait-laced and well-spoken while the other ten percent he’d lose it and let loose a few f-bombs. I always giggled like a little kid when he did that, tempted to point and say, he-he, Easton cussed.

“Um, I have a, um, personal question to ask.” Why was I so nervous? This was Easton and he’d keep this between us. I think. When his gaze met mine it was like being examined under a microscope. “Would it be possible for Seltzer to get an appointment with the company doctor at the same time as me? We’d like to both get tested.”

“Get tested?” Easton’s brows raised, questioning my choices, I’m sure. “That’s a big step. Are you sure you’re both ready for it?”

“We said I love you to each other.” Jesus, that sounded so fucking immature. “I mean, we’re in love.”

“I just don’t want you to get hurt. You’re my brother and I love you.”

“I love you, too, E, and I love Seltzer. We’re serious about each other.”

Easton nodded. “I’ll call and make the appointment.”

We worked until lunchtime then went in search of our men, hoping there was no bloodshed. “Are you boys playing nicely?” Easton asked them as we walked into the basement. Music blared through the speakers, each had taken a section of the couch and claimed it as their own. Notebooks and pens in hand, wadded papers on the floor. No blood, and they’d been busy which was a good sign.

Diamond groaned, and Seltzer responded. “We have. Gonna hit his studio in a bit. Lunch time?” Seltzer wandered over and took me in his arms and kissed me in front of my brother. My face heated, but I didn’t care. If this didn’t show them how much we meant to each other then I didn’t know what would.

“Yes. We’re having leftovers for lunch. Carne asada tacos and burritos for dinner courtesy of our lovely housekeeper and chef.” Diamond pulled Easton down on top of him as he got the last word out. “Hello, handsome.” I was the last Taylor to find my person which was great. Instead of constantly feeling alone and jealous, I felt a sense of inner peace now and wanted to share our relationship with the world.

“We should have Mom and Sal over for dinner while Seltzer is here.” That hit me with a pang, and I regretted the fact we’d part ways next week. Well, most likely? Guess we should discuss that.
